The City of Cars ...Great Success!

 Under the theme of “A City of Cars in Cairo”, the 12th version of AUTOMECH show flooded the Capital with a downfall of new car models and business deals from 6-11 June, 2007 at the Cairo International Fair Ground. After the inauguration ceremonies attended by top governmental officials, leading public figures, and hundreds of media representatives, Cairo’s sky was lightened by amazing fireworks announcing the start of the largest automotive event in the MENA region.


Fabulous stand designs flashing with new car models, and thousands of visitors of all ages were all together like an orchestra symphony tactfully played at the Cairo Fair Ground. AUTOMECH 2007 was formally inaugurated by H.E. Safwat Al Sherif, President of the Egypt’s Shura Council and Mr. Mohamed Ahdy Fadly, Chairman of Akhbar El Yom Establishment and soon they were followed by H.E. Francis Ricciardone, U.S. Ambassador to Egypt who came to support the re-launching festival of FORD’s new agent and bid a visit to GM’s stand as well.


While adults enjoyed the new car models, the children spent memorable moments playing at the play yard specially-designed for them. On the other wing of the show, the spare parts and car accessories sector witnessed flourishing business deals and activities; some finalized on site while many others soon to take effect.

  The organizers increased the show space significantly this year by the help of new ready-made halls making AUTOMECH 2007 space to reach 40,400 sqm. To visitor’s eyes the scene at the show was a real “City of Cars” that soon closed the doors on Monday June 11th with more than 420,000 attendees. According to press, the prevailing impression was that Egypt’s have finally succeeded in organizing an internationally standard automotive event that will be soon pointed out on the World’s map.
